Our Memory Tree Scheme is a thoughtful initiative that allows individuals to commemorate loved ones by donating funds for a tree to be planted, in our 6 acre exercise area, much of which has been reserved to promote biodiversity and natural habitats for wildlife.  Alongside the tree, a personalised plaque can be installed, bearing the name of the individual being remembered and perhaps a short message or quote.

Key Features of the Memory Tree Scheme:

1. Tree Planting: Donors choose a tree species (from a selection) that aligns with their preferences or the character of the person or pet being honoured. Native or local species will be emphasised to support biodiversity and ecological health.

2. Commemorative Plaque: Each tree is accompanied by a small, durable plaque. It typically includes:

   • The name of the loved one.
   • A meaningful date (e.g., birth and passing dates, or a specific memory).
   • An inscription, such as a quote, phrase, or tribute.

3. Location: Our 6 acre exercise paddock was purchased in 2023 following the difficulties we faced regarding HS2 

4. Cost and Donation: The scheme involves a set donation that covers:

   • The purchase and planting of the tree.
   • Installation of the plaque.
   • Maintenance of the tree and surrounding area for a specified period.

5. Environmental Benefits: In addition to serving as a living memorial, these trees contribute to reforestation, carbon absorption, and habitat creation, making them a meaningful tribute that benefits the planet.

Example Scenario:

You donate to the scheme in memory of a loved one, choosing an oak tree to symbolise strength and longevity. The tree is planted in peaceful area with other memory trees. A plaque at its base reads:
"In Loving Memory of John Smith (1945–2023) – Forever in Our Hearts."

This not only creates a lasting tribute but also offers a serene space for reflection, contributing positively to the environment and our supporters.
